Effective, explosion-protected position switches
R. STAHL's position switches monitor the position of moving machine and system parts in hazardous areas. Components such as the flameproof contact element, positive-opening contacts and the Ex e enclosure provide the necessary protection. And because there are variants featuring different equipment, you can be sure that we have the right model for you, whatever your application.

R. STAHL's Category 1 explosion-protected safety position switches are incredibly versatile. They monitor the position of moving machine and system parts and, because their moving contacts are galvanically separated, they can also switch different potentials. Their Ex e switch enclosure is made from plastic or metal, making them wonderfully robust; they can also be used at a wide range of temperatures, between -60 and +60 °C. And the range of possible variants with these switches is impressive too: Different switching elements are available for the interchangeable contact element, which is protected by a flameproof enclosure; you can also choose between ten different actuators, all of which can be offset by 90°. The position switches have positive-opening NC contacts, which means that they can also be used for safety circuits.
